I've been doing UE since it started, 6yrs I think, and Boston is a beast. I bypass every PIN for delivery if the person isn't downstairs within 1min because oftentimes in Boston, you can't find parking. You can't sit on Comm Ave for 8mins, not possible. I've had no issue with bypassing PIN. Once I do, I'll wait it out a few mins to see if someone comes while I'm recording from my phone or dashcam. No one has reported their food stolen or not received when I bypass the PIN. Again, its if the customer is not reachable by text or phone.

Regardless of which location the customer orders from the app ultimately decides which location to send it. That's what I have noticed. I have instances where some customers called me while waiting at the restaurant to inquire why I was not picking up from the one closer to them.

When I get at least $2 per mile, then I do accept extra requests.

wait till these companies put out robo delivery cars= now the company has a physical object you can take retribution on for the way they treat humans. That isnt going to go over well. Can a robotaxi smell who peed in it discreetly?

The restaraunt is the customer of the food service provider. WE are the restaurants customer, The apps are our customer. The person ordering food is the apps customer. Not yours, so just eat the food.

If I wasn’t in California I’d sue them. Because I know rights that we have that they take away. In CA I think we are considered employees to a degree. If DoorDash got sued for 1$ per delivery or something, it would be a FAT check. I almost want to start a class action. Most of my career was (edit: pre) prop 22 in CA. I’ve been dashing since 2018. So I’ve seen it all.

I wonder how on earth Uber made profit in 2023😮.. ‘2023’ was the most busiest year for Uber/Lyft Drivers with a lot of Promotions & Quests. ‘2024’ is the worst . I wonder, with this massive slash on driver pay , Uber should triple its profit .

I'm also signed up for AmazonFlex and can't figure out why I'm not seeing orders from either 1 of the 3 local WholeFoods. I see drivers coming and going, so it's confusing. One of these days I'll give it a try or maybe ask the drivers how to do it. Uber keeps me busy for now.

I did GoPuff 1x, never again. I didn't deactivate it but I deleted the app. Pretty much, I waited 25mins for this goofball to tell me that they chose no longer to serve alcohol because of ID issues with some of the drivers. I called the customer and told the rep that they have a valid ID, they confirmed it. I sat on the couch and waited him out because I refuse to cancel a $40 order going 10mins away. If it was a sitcom, it woud have been funny. He popped in the back, several minutes later he comes out, does some things on the computer and then looks at me, saying, "May I help you?" I'm like, "Dude, I'm waiting for Katherine's order." Oh, I can't give it to you. 'Yes, your giving it to me. It's already been fulfilled.' In the end, he gave it, but I have no idea what was up his sleeve

I agree Zach, I prefer leave at the door. The PIN is smart, Uber uses it, but customers still don't confirm it or come to the door. Instead of waiting out an 8-min timer, it should be 2mins for the customer to bring their butt the door. 2mins clocks down pretty quickly. Once the 2min timer expires, it will prompt a leave at the door and the customer is sent a reminder that if they choose the Hand to Me or Meet at the Door, they need to choose Leave at the door if they have no intentions of meeting the driver because the driver has other deliveries. Holding up drivers can cause delay in deliveries, etc. They need to craft a message that alerts the customer, and in order for them to order again, they need to accept that they read it

Instead of the signature, it should be required to snap a photo of the person holding the bag

It happened to me and was done from inside doordash. They used that platform. Ive got life lock on now. Doordash took my statement and never called me back. Your in danger working with these gig companies
